Down on the Farm

So it's Sunday morning here now, Luke & Cuke have left for Cairns (we had to get up at 4am this morning)

And today's blog is about our day on Steve & Beckys farm yesterday.  But first a couple of pics from Friday night...me Helena, Becky & Steve went for a Japanese Teppanyaki meal in Adelaide.  Same place we all went to 12 years ago

The Moreton Bay bugs were delicious (although they look far from it)

And the cook was very adept at throwing bits of egg around with his tools (will put the vid on Facebook if I can figure it out - where's Luke when you need him?)

S&b's farm is just over an hours drive from Glenelg. A beautiful spot where the only sounds you hear are the birds singing and the cows munching the grass.  The ranch hands soon got their gear on

And the rest of us got down to lessons on how to drive the quad, trail bike or tractor, whichever took your fancy

(Yes, that's Helena in the cab!)

Then it was a crack of the whip

Before Luke got a masterclass from an Aussie pro on the art of "Barbie"...

It was then a ride around the farm, all 300 acres with H&B on the quad and the rest of us in the 4 wheel drive Yoot

We saw wild 'Roo's and even deer here and there.  Fantastic views although its very dry at the moment as it's the height of summer and it topped 40 degrees yesterday (and same today)

We all had (yet another) fantastic day, even Marley!
