The Last Post (updated)

Yes readers, this is the last one.  If I knew how to, I'd have a bugle playing in the background (where's Luke when you need him?!).

It just remains for us to say a big thank you to a few folks for making our holiday so special..in no particular order

Thanks to neighbour Sam for taking good care of the chucks and pussys while we've been away... They now think they're human and seem to have taken my place (along with another tiddler) in my bed

Thanks to Luke & Cuke for being our streetwise guru's in Bangkok and for their lovely company in both Bangkok and Adelaide.  Enjoy the rest of your trip and remember to keep on blogging!

And a really big thanks to Becky and Steve for their generosity, hospitality, time, wine, beer, food etc, etc!
We really enjoyed spending time with guys and with Sienna & Marley.

I have made a couple of suggestions for Steves next Car and boat below!

I don't think they come up for sale very often so Steve will need to keep an eye out at the auctions for these!

So that's it, we arrived home to 8 degrees, traffic jams, pouring rain and wind.  Aaah!

Couple of people o forgot to mention (we'd been travelling 32 hrs when I did the blog, well that's my excuse anyway)...

Thanks to Alison Lees for organising preferential rates at The Marriott in Surfers Paradise, it was a fantastic place to stay

And finally, to my number 1 fan, Dazzer.  Glad you enjoyed the blogs.

Last day in Aus

Thought I might be struggling for content today (listen to me, sounding like some sort of blogger/writer...who do I think I am?!) but thankfully Brisbane airport shops have helped out (see below)

As last days go it's been good. Had a nice brekkie in The Ocean Cafe just down the road then back to the hotel for a last dip in the lagoon pool with the tropical fish.
Bit of lunch and a beer round the pool before popping up to the Spa for a shower and bit of serenity

Didn't actually drink the tea, just took a pic as it looked serene

Ivan (the talkative taxi driver) picked us up on time and got us to the airport earlier than expected so we had a chance to look round the shops for a while until checkout opened.  Thank god we did as we were able to buy those one in a million gifts we've been desperately searching for for folks back home.... For Keith
 For Dazzer
For Jack, we know he likes his aftershaves
And bag of Emu Jerky for Mary, Nigel & Jonathan to share
If anyone reading this sees any of these lucky folks before we do please don't spoil the surprise.  For myself I got some
Good for arthritic hips apparently but not as good as

And finally for today's blog, as a Customer Service Professional, I was inspired to see the following touchscreen in the men's toilets above the Dyson hand dryer
GO BRISBANE AIRPORT!

Wet n Wild (Updated)

Ever the thrill seekers it was off to
Today (no colour enhancement on any of my photos!)
Found ourselves a lovely little spot at
Where there was a Kabanos already waiting for us, nice
H&B soon made themselves at home
And then started practicing their synchronised left handed salute (I haven't worked out why they do this but they do it a lot when I say "say cheese", I think it's a sign of obeyance to my instruction - stick with me folks I'm having to work hard to inject humour into today's blog!)

We had a very colourful view from our little spot of the lazy river
Guess who wasted no time getting in?
Yes,there they are, enjoying themselves again (you'd think they were on holiday)

But sedate lolling down the lazy river was soon overtaken by a trip to
Yes, it was time to force women and children to go on scary rides they don't want to go on cos they're scared...

We didn't do them all but we did manage SideWinder

Super 8 Aqua Racer
River Rapids
And Constrictor (no pic of this one I'm afraid you'll have be content with some trees instead)

And tonight, being our last night (boo hoo we no likey) we've decided to eat in the hotel restaurant, "Citrique" (that's Fremch for "Citrique") where apparently there's a Brazilian theme...not sure if that means Samba dancers or German footballers showing off their soccer skills....the night is young and we shall see...apparently it's an all you can eat buffet AND we've had no lunch today (we had a big brekkie to be fair so we weren't really hungry) BUT we've made a family pact not leave the restaurant until every bit of food is consumed....if only Tank was here!  To be continued...

Thank goodness it was Samba dancers otherwise there would have been more food flung round the place than when we had our Teppanyaki meal a couple of nights ago.  There weren't many of them but what they lacked in numbers they made up for in wiggly hip movements

Sorry the next pic is as bit blurred, can't think why?!

Finally it was time to eat

For shear simplicity I've concentrated on the seafood but there was loads more to chose from
A lovely last meal of our hols

(Was very tempted to add a pic of Peg Leg Pete which Luke sent me but I won't cos she won't forgive me....but cant resist it!)

SeaWorld

Couple of pics from my early morning walk along the beach this morning

Whilst H&B had an early dip in the lagoon pool (honest Dazzer, if you look close that reall is them!)

Bit of brekkie then we're off to
Dolphin show

Worst attempt at a selfie ever

Followed by one of my specialty multi-chin selfies

Even fish are better taking selfies than I am

Other fishy shots below

Then it was time to do what all good Dads do...force your 10yr old daughter onto the biggest ride in the park against her will....she went on a 2nd time straight after (kept her eyes closed for most of it both times)...she loved it!

We are in the 3rd row Dazzer!

Photo of a photo to finish off- we are only pretending to be scared!
